Episode 7 sees the last of the blind auditions, as the coaches fill their last places on their teams of 12. Rita Ora, Tom Jones, will.i.am and Ricky Wilson will be pressing their button sparingly, to make sure the last artists on their team are worthy of one of the last places on their team.
Contestants featuring in Episode 7:
Vanessa Hunt, 26 from Peterborough currently works at a company selling toilet paper and cleaning products but she also is part of a band called ‘The Look’, where her boyfriend Richard is also a vocalist for. Vanessa is from a large family, and her father was a cheesy 80s wedding DJ. She will be performing ‘Sunshine Of Your Love’ by Cream.
32 year old Matt Baker is a full time singer from Bristol who works at holiday camps and functions. He was born in Bristol but raised in Somerset where he still lives with his Dad who is also a singer himself. Matt once supported Atomic Kitten, Liberty X, Blue and Mistique in front of a massive 15,000 people. The somerset lad will be performing ‘Are You Gonna Go My Way’ by Lenny Kravitz.
Singing ‘Crying For No Reason’ by Katy B is 19 year old Autumn Sharif from London. She was originally born in the Netherlands but she moved to London with her family when she was 10 and has a very close relationship with her mum.
27 year old factory worker Kyle Parry often gigs around his local area in Wales and is a lead singer of an originals band. Kyle comes from a very musical family, where his dad and brother both gig, his youngest brother works in the west end and sister was in a girl group. He will be singing ‘Try’ by Pink.
Michelle Gee, 40 from London is a midwife and has delivered over 80 babies in the last two years. She started performing at an early age of 15 where she was the only girl in a 15-piece jazz/funk band and played venues such as the Jazz Cafe. Michelle loves doing open mic nights and sees these as a real opportunity to let her hair down! In an attempt to make the coaches turn, she is singing Chaka Chan ‘I Feel For You’.
Disney obsessed 33 year old Sarah Dunn from Warrington works part-time as a ‘Frozen’ tribute and dresses up as ‘Elsa’ for kids parties. She has also sang as herself at army bases around Europe for the past five years and also for disability events. People thinks she looks like Kylie, so she also performs as a tribute for her too. Sarah is going to be performing ‘Barbie Girl’ by Ben L’Once Sole!
Singing ‘Fancy’ by Iggy Azalea is Mitch Miller, 27 from Birmingham who works as a stage school singing teacher. He also works as a singing waiter, where he will often attend weddings (sometimes even as a guest) and then suddenly bursts into song to surprise the guests. His father was a songwriter and wrote for Robin Gibb in the past.
Essex girl JoCee is 23 and is Sally Gunnell’s niece – she gets her drive and determination from her aunty Sally. She runs an acoustic music night with her best friend Pixie Lott who has been incredibly supportive of her music career and persuaded her to go on The Voice. JoCee is a waitress and her boss plays her music in the restaurant and she also performs there from time to time. On Saturday night we will see her performing ‘Show Me Love’ by Robin S.
Salesman Craig Bunch from Kent, aged 35, has two boys aged 3 and 5 from a previous marriage. Unfortunately, in 2013, he briefly lost his memory due to swelling of the brain and meant he lost his confidence. He also stopped gigging as much and found it difficult to pick up his guitar and remember songs he used to play. Craig, who was first introduced to music from his Dad, will be singing ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’ by Joe Cocker.
Roisin Geraghty, 25, has lived in Halifax all her life but now lives with her two year old son, just across the road from her old family home. Influenced by her grandparents traveller lifestyle, she enjoys singing old style country songs and has done for as long as she can remember. Roisin will be singing a Dolly Parton classic ‘Coat Of Many Colours’!
20 year old singer Annelies has had her fair share of experience from a young age! At 15 she performed at Wembley and again this year in front of 73,000 people. Annelies is from Cardiff, and sang the Welsh National Anthem at Twickenham for England vs Wales Six Nations match in March 2014. She is going to be singing ‘Chandelier’ by Sia.
Charlotte Turnball, 18 from Surrey, is the eldest sibling from a large family. A busy home life means she often goes to her room to take some time out where she has her own studio and a space to work on her own music. She feels her music performance course has helped her a lot with her music, alongside her gigging and doing open mic’s. Charlotte is singing ‘Gecko (Overdrive)’ by Oliver Heldens ft Becky Hill.
Born and bred in the Shetland Isles is 26 year old Lisa Ward who moved to Glasgow aged 17. Lisa was a lead vocalist in the band ‘Death Star Canteen’ who supported Biffy Clyro 10 years ago when they came to Shetland for a gig. ‘Weak’ by Skunk Anasie is the song Lisa will be singing.
The last artist performing is Andrew Marc, 48 from Hereford who works as an air conditioning engineer but also likes to dress up and perform as legend and The Voice UK coach himself Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey and Tina Turner. His dad is his inspiration – he used to be a singer and was on the same bill as Tom Jones in 1965. On that night, his parents met and Andrew says if it wasn’t for Tom Jones then he wouldn’t be here! He’s going to be performing a Tina Turner song – ‘Whats Love Got To Do With It’.
