It has been announced that David Ryall passed away aged 79 on Christmas Day.
The actor was famous for playing the role of Elphias Doge in Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and Frank, the Grandfather who suffered from dementia in the sitcom Outnumbered.
Other television appearances included Old Bert in The Village and roles in The Singing Detective and House Of Cards.
Mark Gatiss took to twitter to express his condolences. The Sherlock writer and star wrote:
The great David Ryall left us on Christmas Day. A twinkling, brilliant, wonderful actor I was privileged to call a friend. RIP.
