Celebrations hit an all time high last night as an average audience of 12.3 million viewers tuned in to last night’s New Year’s Eve celebrations on BBC One.

This has made the London New Year Fireworks one of the most watched TV shows in 2014.

Even though 12.3 million seems a lot, the New year fireworks were in fact down by (over) 1 million viewers compared to last years figures.

Believe it or not, the fireworks hasn’t been titled ‘The Most Watched TV Show of 2014’, but the World Cup Final has.

The World Cup Final has been crowned winner as it was seen by just under 15 million viewers earlier this year on BBC One as Germany beat Argentina to the number 1 spot.
