The work in progress format will be similar to The X Factor or Britain’s Got Talent but instead the show will be for wannabe presenters hoping to have their big break.
The title, which has not yet been confirmed, could be ‘Presenter Camp’, with the prize being a contract with a production company.
The show is being made by Inspiring TV who said: “We know there are plenty of talented people out there desperate for a big break on television.
“We hope to discover future stars on our show – maybe even the new Ant and Dec.”
The show will welcome solo presenters and double acts to audition for the new series, which could air on ITV with a pilot episode being filmed later this month.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “It’s like X Factor or Britain’s Got Talent, but with the twist that a winner could end up presenting a similar big show.”
The programme could be on air next year with an ITV source saying: “It sounds like an interesting concept. Every TV company is on a constant look-out for new young talent.
“This would be a brilliant vehicle for discovering just such a presenter.”
