British singer, Sam Smith celebrated winning several Grammy Awards at the 57th anniversary last night, February 8th.
The singer was up for many awards which he was very excited about when he was nominated, but did he expect to win this many?
Four Grammy’s in one night in pretty impressive to say the least, picking up the awards for Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album for his debut, In The Lonely Hour.
As well as those above, Sam also won two awards for his single ‘Stay With Me’ including Song of the Year and Record of the year, which he also performed at the awards ceremony with Mary J Blige.
On the acceptance of his last trophy, Smith said “I want to thank the man who this record is about, who I fell in love with last year. Thank you so much for breaking my heart because you got me four Grammys.”
Other Grammy winners included Pharrell Williams, gaining three trophies. Beck, winning Album of the Year and also Beyonce and Jay-Z. The couple’s ‘Drunk in Love’ won recognition in the Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song.
