Dame Maggie Smith promises to stay on Downton Abbey for as long as it lasts!

Maggie isn't going anywhere.

Dame Maggie Smith has promised to stay on Downton Abbey until the show comes to an end in the future.

80-year-old actress, Dame Maggie Smith told The Wrap: “Maggie has always been on the record as saying she’ll be with the show for as long as the show runs.”

Headlines reported last week that Maggie Smith is set to quit the dramatic Downton Abbey due to ‘old age’ – but now the actress has vowed to stay, until the very end.

Dame Maggie Smith told The Sunday Times: “They say this is the last one, and I can’t see how it could go on,

“I certainly can’t keep going. To my knowledge, I must be 110 by now. We’re into the late 1920s.”

She continued: “Television really does you in.”

Maggie is known for her role as Dowager Countess of Grantham.
