The Massachusetts General Hospital have revealed that his vocal cord surgery was successful today and he’s expected to make a full recovery.

The surgery to stop recurrent vocal cord bleeding was performed by Dr Steven Zeitels, he has performed the same procedure on Steven Tyler, Adele and Lionel Richie.
According to the hospital, Sam’s condition was the result of ‘unstable blood vessels in the vocal cord’ that can rupture and prevent vocal performance.
Sam’s next live show, which hasn’t been cancelled is scheduled for July 18th.
