Alton Towers have reopened X-Sector after almost two weeks closed following The Smiler crash which happened on 2nd June.
Alton Towers have reopened Sonic Spinball which was closed due to an investigation being carried out, as it’s believed some of the track elements are the same as The Smiler.
Oblivion and Enterprise have also reopened this afternoon (15th June) following closure after The Smiler’s incident which seriously injured four people.
Nick Varney, CEO Merlin Entertainments said about The Smiler tragedy: “We are deeply saddened by the news about Leah and all our thoughts are with her and her family.
“We cannot undo the events of last week but everyone in the company and at Alton Towers is determined to do all we can to provide appropriate support to those who were injured and their families.”
