Chessington World of Adventures announce death of popular giraffe, Kismet!

Chessington World of Adventures have announced that one of their popular giraffes, Kismet has passed away.

If you’ve recently been on ZUFARI: Ride into Africa at Chessington World of Adventures Resort, you may have seen Kismet.

Kismet was nearly 19 and due to illness the decision was taken to humanely euthanize him, Chessington World of Adventures revealed.

Giraffes on average live up to 25 years of age, so Kismet was quite old.

In a statement, the resort said: “He was a much loved animal here at the Resort, often the crowd pleaser during our Giraffe Feeds,

“and will be very much missed by our dedicated Zoo team.”

Past visitors were quick to react about the devastating news, one visitor said: “very sad, we had the pleasure of feeding him when we visited in April.”

Another visitor said: “I am so sorry to hear that, we were blessed to have met Kismet in February and he was so lovely xx It must have been a very hard decision to make x”
