Paul O’Grady has publicly spoken about the death of his friend Cilla Black saying it’s ‘very difficult to comprehend’.
Surprise Surprise and Blind Date star Cilla Black has died today aged 72.
The star was made an OBE in 1997 and also awarded a Bafta ‘Special Award’ in honour of her contribution to entertainment in 2014.
It has been revealed that most of the shutters were down at her house near Marbella this morning.
Paul told Liverpool ECHO: “Please tell me this isn’t true? We’ve been friends for nearly 20 years. She’s like my sister.
“Apart from her hearing she was alright. We had a week together in Barbados at the beginning of the year and I saw her on my birthday.
“I thought she was well. I can’t believe it to tell you the truth.”
A Spanish police officer said: “We are still awaiting autopsy results but everything at this stage is pointing towards her death being the result of natural causes.”
