Simon Cowell has spoken about last weekend’s X Factor audition by Josh Daniel that made him cry.
Josh Daniel’s performance on The X Factor last weekend made boss Simon Cowell cry, he’s now spoken about the situation openly for the first time.
Simon admits it was “very raw” to rewatch the scenes of Josh Daniel’s performance of Labrinth’s ‘Jealous’.
Simon’s, beloved mother Julie died days before Josh’s audition in July, he was unable to speak after the audition finished – only managing to give his final verdict, a yes.
“Of course, it brought it all back. It is a very difficult thing to know what to do. The contestant didn’t know the situation. He wasn’t doing it to make me upset. He sang the song for his own reasons,” Simon told The Sun newspaper.
“It was more important that he did a good audition. But it was very raw and it did take me back to the moment, but I think in quite a healthy way. Being upset is a human thing.”
