Strictly has once again won the ratings battle against the X Factor, with last night’s show receiving over 4 million more viewers than X Factor!
With an extremely long episode of The X Factor, it is no surprise the ratings are down on last weekend, only managing to pull in an average audience of 5.6 million viewers.
This made this marathon long episode the lowest watched episode of the series and that figure includes those who caught up on ITV1 +1.
The ratings are down about 1 million viewers than last weekend and almost 2 million down on last year’s Halloween episode.
In comparison, Strictly’s ratings improved on last weekend’s show as it continued to go strong with 9.4 million viewers, almost TWICE as many viewers as The X Factor.
There was a 15 minute overlap between the two shows last night, with Strictly peaking at 9.9 million viewers.
It is argued that the fact that it was Halloween last night may have affected X Factor’s ratings but last year’s show managed to pull in just over 7 million viewers and Strictly managed to grow it’s audience from last weekend.
The ratings from last night’s X Factor makes it the least watched episode of the series, with the previous series low being 6.4 million, and possibly the least watched live show since series one.
Both Strictly and X Factor return tonight for their respective results show, but for the first time in weeks, the two shows will not clash.
Strictly Come Dancing’s results show airs at 7:15 pm on BBC One and The X Factor’s results show starts at 8pm on ITV.
