The X Factor 2016: Louis Tomlinson speaks out about joining the judging panel!

Louis Tomlinson has responded to the rumours speculating his debut to The X Factor judging panel.

Earlier this week, Nick Grimshaw revealed that he would not be returning to The X Factor judging panel next year, leaving people to speculate about who might replace him.

Sources claim that One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson joining the judging panel is a “done deal”, however, an official statement from The X Factor states that no decision has been made about the judging panel.

Last night at the BRIT awards, Louis responded to the rumours, claiming he would be up for joining but there has been “no official conversation”.

He explained: “Of course it’s really exciting. We’ve had no official conversation yet, but yeah, I mean why wouldn’t I?

“I’d have to condition Liam against the other boys if I took him to judges’ houses. But I don’t know if he’ll beat Niall in the running.”

Bandmate Liam Payne added: “Yes, I’ll help him. He needs all the help he can get.”

Meanwhile, many fans were shocked to see that only two of the four members of One Direction had attended the BRIT awards, despite them being up for two awards.

A source said previously: “BRIT organisers were desperate to get the boys. They told them they could perform whatever they wanted, even a new single, or just turn up for a boozy night out.

“It didn’t work though. The lads seem more focused on their own projects now than rejoining their bandmates – even for the biggest night in showbiz.”

The band picked up the Best Video award for their Drag Me Down music video, as voted for by viewers on twitter last night.

Kicking off the speech, Louis said: ‘It really is times like these that prove to us we have the best fans in the world. This award is for you.’
Liam added: ‘We’ve been enjoying our break. Thank you, lots of love.’
