Nick Grimshaw has revealed why he quit The X Factor after just ONE series of being a judge.

Radio 1 presenter Nick Grimshaw has opened up about why he decided to leave The X Factor – It may not surprise you…

Nick revealed he quit because it was ‘too much work’.

Speaking to The Telegraph he said: “There hadn’t been any discussions when I made my decision.

“So I thought before there were months of speculation over who was going to be back, I’d say I didn’t want to and get it out of the way. Once I decided, I decided and that was it”.

When news broke about his exit a spokesperson for Nick told The Sun: “After careful consideration, Nick’s decided to rule himself out as a judge on this year’s X Factor.

“He loved working on last year’s series alongside Rita, Cheryl and Simon but it was very much a once-in-a-lifetime experience. He remains a massive fan of the show and is looking forward to watching it this year.”

But who is going to replace Nick Grimshaw? Could Louis Walsh be set to make a comeback? Or could One Direction member Louis Tomlinson make his debut on the panel?

“Louis Tomlinson is very likely to replace Grimmy. He agreed in principle to the job while assisting Simon Cowell during the judges’ houses round last year,” a source told the tabloid.

“But Simon remains very fond of Louis Walsh and came very close to bringing him back during last year’s live shows.

“He felt a certain something was missing on the show without him.”
