Tina Hobley has revealed she is considering suing Channel 4 and the producers of The Jump after breaking her arm on the show.
The Holby City star was practising on the ski slopes, when she was forced to swerve to avoid a crew member who had not cleared the way.
Tin broke her arm in two places and dislocated her elbow. This is a serious injury and will take her a long time to completely recover, suggesting why she may be considering suing the show.
Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, Hobley said: “Someone told me to jump and it wasn’t safe to jump. So it wasn’t an accident that was my fault. What happened was painful.”
“I’m recovering at the moment. That’s what I’m doing. I’ve got a long recovery to go. It will be about a year before I’m back to normal.
“I’ve got to have two operations. But I don’t know yet what they will be.”
A spokesperson for Channel 4 told Digital Spy: “We have not had notice of competitors taking action.
“Whilst we do not discuss details of individuals contracts, all contestants were fully covered for medical expenses both in Austria and in the UK.”
In other news, according to The Sun, Channel 4 now plan to cancel the show because of falling viewing figures.
A source for the show claimed: “The feeling among the show team is that this has been the worst series yet, “After so many injuries, the celebrities are terrified of everything — and then the viewer ratings have fallen off a massive cliff. Yes, there has been a lot of controversy about people getting injured, but that isn’t the problem.
“At the end of the day, this comes down to business. The show is just not pulling in the viewing figures to justify the huge amount being spent on it.”
