Adele has confirmed on stage during her tour this evening that she’s headlining Glastonbury this year.

A fan who attended Adele’s gig at London’s O2 this evening posted on Twitter: “Adele just announced she is headlining Glastonbury at her concert tonight at the 02 in London.”
Glastonbury Festival on Twitter has also confirmed the news by tweeting: “As @Adele just announced live on stage in London, she will headline Saturday night at this year’s Glastonbury Festival!”

Emily Eavis co-organiser of the annual Glastonbury Festival said on Twitter: “What a great honour it is to have the wonderful Adele confirmed for this year’s Saturday night headline spot on the Pyramid Stage!”

A source close to the festival previously said: “Most of the acts have been booked for Glasto but Michael and daughter Emily Eavis are still trying to get Adele for Saturday night.
“She has been on their wishlist for a few years now. Negotiations are ongoing but this is the closest they have got to signing her.”
