The Britain’s Got Talent 2016 final was the least watched final ever in the 10 years of the show’s history!
Hopes were high at the start of the series as rating figures impressed in the audition stages but the ratings dipped last week during the live shows, ending with the least watched final ever.
Last night saw Richard Jones be crowned winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2016 with the show averaging at 8.45 million viewers between 7:30 and 10:00, with many audition episodes of this series beating this figure. However, last night’s show peaked at 10.5 million whilst the result was announced.
This figure is down almost 3 million viewers from last year’s final and 2 million below the previous least watched final.
The audition shows this year have exceeded all expectations with the viewing figures the best in seven years, making Britain’s Got Talent 2016 the most watched series to date.
Many fans were surprised with the low viewing figures of last night’s show as many argue it was one of the best finals ever, with a brilliant array of talent and an outstanding montage of 10 years of Britain’s Got Talent directed by Ashley Banjo.
