ITV’s Bear Grylls’ Mission Survive has been AXED by the broadcaster.
ITV have confirmed there won’t be another series of Bear Grylls’ Mission Survive after failing ratings.
An ITV spokesman said: “We had two exciting series of Mission Survive but the commissioning team continues to refresh the channels Entertainment portfolio and so we have taken the decision not to commission a further series.
“We would like to thank Bear and the production team for everything that they achieved with the series. We have a number of projects with Bear in the pipeline and we will be announcing more details in due course.”
Mission Survive tests celebrities to their limit with a 12-day expedition, they must use their survival skills to impress Bear, the worst-performing celebs gets eliminated each week.
A source added: “Bear remains very much part of the channel.”
According to The Sun newspaper, they confirmed their decision to axed the show after the final; which aired in March only attracted 2.2million viewers.
A source said: “Mission Survive did what ITV expected to at first – it got everyone talking and there was a real buzz around the series,”
They added: “But the second group of celebrities didn’t get people quite as excited, and that showed in the ratings which were much lower.”
