Hours after the the official Tenacious D Twitter account said Jack Black was dead, it’s been confirmed the account was hacked.

The hacker tweeted the 46 year-old actor was still alive: “Calm down guys! It’s just a prank bro, look there’s the camera…

“The Legend is still alive, it is ok guys :)”

The ‘prank’ was tweeted by the actor himself, or bandmate Kyle Gass.

The hack was confirmed by Guitarist John Konesky, he told fans: “Twitter feed was hacked. Than s*** ain’t true! They’re working on fixing it!”

Fans have been in chaos today, and left confused following a series of tweets from the official Tenacious D Twitter account, it claims Jack Black died at 3:17am today.

But around a similar time of his apparent death, he appeared on a SnapChat story with US producer Diplo.

The picture taken from SnapChat has a ‘9 hours ago’ stamp, so it was taken around 11:30am GMT time.
