Christopher Biggins’ agent has spoken out following the news of producers ejecting the panto star from the house.
Friday afternoon Christopher Biggins was removed from the Celebrity Big Brother house – Channel 5 producers revealed they removed Biggins because of his offensive language.
A statement released by Channel 5 read: “Big Brother has taken the decision to remove Christopher Biggins from the Celebrity Big Brother house.
“Since entering Big Brother, he has made a number of comments capable of causing great offence to housemates and the viewing public.
“Big Brother does not tolerate offensive language capable of causing widespread offence. Christopher Biggins has left the house.”
Biggins’ agent has spoken out since the news telling Radio Times that the panto star wouldn’t have purposefully set out to offend people.
Jonathan Shalit OBE told the mag: “I have been close friends and worked with Biggins for many years and can confirm that he would never intentionally cause offence,
“If something was said in jest which caused offence then I am certain that was not his intention. Biggins is a much loved and wonderful man.”
Channel 5 refused to comment further on the events which led to Biggins being ejected – It will be shown in Saturday’s highlight show.
Celebrity Big Brother continues nightly on Channel 5.
