The UK’s most talked about TV show, The X Factor, is back and here is everything you need to know!
And this year’s series sees the return of some favourite faces as rock royalty Sharon Osbourne, pop sensation Nicole Scherzinger, chart maestro Louis Walsh and The X Factor creator and music mogul Simon Cowell are reunited on the judging panel.
They are joined by the nation’s favourite TV host, Dermot O’Leary, who is back to guide viewers through all of The X Factor action as well as providing hopefuls with those much-needed ‘Dermot hugs’.
Also making a welcome comeback for this year’s series are the intimate room auditions where aspiring stars will find themselves face-to-face in front of the judges in a very personal setting.
If contestants impress the judges in the audition room, they stand the chance of securing a place in the next stage of the competition at Bootcamp. Here the remaining hopefuls will perform for the judges again, with a choreography challenge and of course the all-important performance challenge where they will be grouped together to sing in lines.
Then once the judges have made their deliberations and have been given their individual categories, it’s every act for themselves with the return of the dramatic Six Chair Challenge. Here, for the first time in the competition, the hopefuls will have to impress a live audience of thousands as well as the judges to win one of the six sought after spots at each Judges’ House.
With the finalists chosen at Judges’ Houses, the search for the nation’s next singing sensation gets serious as the Live Shows begin. Expect big personalities, outstanding vocals and outrageous performances as the lucky final few and their judges go all out to make sure that they win the title of X Factor Champion 2016and secure a life changing record contract.
Artists discovered by The X Factor have sold more than 200 million records worldwide, including 200 No. 1s, making it the most successful show in history or finding chart superstars. This includes One Direction, who have sold 70 million records worldwide; Olly Murs who has achieved success with four multiplatinum albums and approximately 20 million single sales, and Little Mix who have sold 15 million records globally.
The Xtra Factor Live returns to ITV2 this year with a brand new format and a brand new presenting duo.
Radio 1 DJ and TV host Matt Edmondson and X Factor alumni and TV presenter Rylan Clark-Neal are at the helm this year as The Xtra Factor Live goes live from the very first audition show, giving fans the chance to react to each night’s episode from the very start of the series.
Matt and Rylan will be joined live in the studio by contestants who have appeared on the main show, getting the lowdown on their audition and getting to know more about them.
There will also be live music and a panel of celebrity guests on hand to give their uncensored thoughts and reactions to the night’s auditions
The Xtra Factor Live’s digital reporter, Capital Radio DJ Roman Kemp, will also be on hand to bring viewers all the social media news and reaction to that week’s auditions.
A brand new segment titled ‘Louis’ Gap Year’ will give viewers an exclusive look at what Louis Walsh got up to during his time off last year as we follow him and Sinitta on a trip around the world.
As Matt and Rylan join forces they will also be bringing viewers the usual mix of unseen auditions, interaction with fans on social media, backstage gossip and access to the all-important X Factor judges.
