The BBC are already planning to create a show to rival the Great British Bake Off, which has now moved to Channel 4.
Sad news surfaced yesterday as Mary Berry revealed she will not be following the Great British Bake Off’s move to Channel 4, whereas Paul Hollywood will be moving to Channel 4.
The Telegraph has announced that Mary Berry did not enter any negotiations with Channel 4, just like Mel and Sue, who announced they would be leaving just a day after Bake Off’s move was announced.
Despite Channel 4 reaching out to Mary, it seems Mary just wasn’t interested in the move.
In other news, rumours suggest that the BBC have noticed pleads for a reunion of Mel, Sue and Mary and this may have sparked ideas for a BBC rival to the Great British Bake Off.
Furthermore, the BBC have recently announced that Mary Berry will be their number one TV chef until she chooses to retire, giving further evidence for a rival Bake Off.
In a statement yesterday, the Beeb’s Director of Content Charlotte Moore said: “I’ve been very lucky to have had the pleasure of working with Mary over the last seven years and I’m so pleased that relationship will continue.
“She is an inspiration to generations, a real icon and I can’t wait to cook up more unmissable shows with her.”
