Gifty Louise has become the fourth contestant to leave The X Factor 2016, leaving 8 contestants in the competition!
Last weekend the X Factor jukebox coincidently landed on Fright Night just in time for Halloween this weekend. As a result, contestants took on some of the classic Halloween songs including Michael Jackson and some slightly more extrapolated theme songs.
The contestants who made it through to the fourth live show were:
Four of Diamonds
5 After Midnight
The show kicked off with a bang with a group performance of DNCE’s Cake By the Ocean.
This was followed by an outstanding performance by last year’s X Factor winner Louisa Johnson of her new single So Good.
It was then down to business as Dermot O’Leary read out the names of the contestants who had made it through to next weeks show, with both of Sharon’s Overs going through to next week.
The three acts who received the fewest votes and were subsequently in the bottom three were Gifty Louise, Four of Diamonds and Ryan Lawrie. The public were then given the chance to give one of the three a lifeline with the new lifeline vote.
Whilst the votes were being counted and verified, Bruno Mars took the stage with a superb performance of his new single 24K, revealing that he will be touring in the UK next year.
Dermot O’Leary then went on to reveal that Ryan Lawrie had been granted to lifeline vote for third time this series, leaving Gifty Louise and Four of Diamonds to fight it out in the sing off.
First up was Gifty Louise, producing an emotional performance of A Song For You. This was followed by a powerful performance from Four of Diamonds, with this being their second time in the bottom two.
It was then down to the judges to decide who they wanted to make it through to next week’s show. First was Simon, who stuck with his own act, sending home Four of Diamonds. Louis also stuck with his own act, choosing to send home Gifty.
Nicole was next to decide, choosing to send home Gifty. Finally, Sharon also chose to send home Gifty Louise, meaning Four of Diamonds have made it through to next week’s show.
Simon Cowell went on to say that it was his own fault for giving Gifty a song which was unknown.
The X Factor jukebox then went on to reveal that next week’s theme will be Girlband vs Boyband.
Now only 8 contestants, as Gifty Louise becomes the fourth contestant to leave the show.
