Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher has died in hospital aged 60 after suffering a massive heart attack.
Days after suffering a cardiac arrest, Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher has sadly passed away.
Carrie fell ill on an United Airlines flight last week and sadly died in hospital in LA days later.
A family spokesman Simon Halls released a statement on Tuesday evening on behalf of Carrie’s daughter, Billie Lourd: “It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning.
“She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly. Our entire family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers.”
Staff including doctors and nurses who were on board the aircraft performed CPR on the actress – Paramedics met crew at Los Angeles international airport when the plane landed.
The Hollywood star received treatment after becoming unwell on the flight from London – Carrie was in the UK to promote her new book The Princess Diarist.
She also recorded an interview for the BBC’s The Graham Norton Show.
Carrie Fisher sadly passed away at 8.55 this morning.
