Lea Michele Emotionally Dedicates Teen Choice Award to Cory Monteith

Glee star Lea Michele took to the stage at the Teen Choice Awards to accept her award which fans voted for her as ‘Choice TV Actress in Comedy’. With an emotional speech, Lea managed to dedicate this award to her love, Cory Monteith, as she fought against the tears.

Wearing a ‘Cory’ necklace close to her heart and a simple pink dress, her appearance on the TCA’s must have taken a lot of courage due to the joint presenting of the awards with Cory in 2010.

Lea’s heart-warming speech was to thank everyone for helping her through such a tragic stage in her life, as she expressed “I promise with all your love, we’re going to get through this together”. She went on to say how much she loved Cory and a few reasons for him being such a wonderful man, partner and idol, “he was very special to me and also to the world”.

Joined by fellow Glee Cast friends, she was not alone when tearfully thanking so many people on stage. As this was her first public speech in front of cameras and a big audience, since the loss of Cory, Lea managed the situation extremely well and showed her strength in each word.

Amber Riley who plays Mercedes in the show, voiced We just wanted to say that although we lost someone that we really loved and that all of you guys loved too, we are very fortunate to come back to a show where we feel the love of family” as they prepare for season 5 of Glee.
