A ton of high profile and well known YouTubers are going offline for Red Nose Day.
Four well known YouTubers have gone offline for Red Nose Day on Sunday 12th March.
Zoella, Caspar Lee, Josh Pieters and Pointless Blog (Alfie Deyes) have all posted a seven second clip on their YouTube channels saying they’re going offline.
Reaching more than 18,189,494 people altogether (their subscribers added together, correct at the time of publication), these select YouTubers are part of the latest campaign for Comic Relief.
#RedOut Raise The Alarm is the latest campaign for Red Nose Day, for 24 hours YouTube’s biggest names are going offline to raise awareness of the injustices that vulnerable young people face.
In a statement by Comic Relief, it said: “Right now, millions of young people in the UK and across Africa are being denied access to healthcare, education, employment or a safe place to sleep.
“Some will be trafficked, abused, exploited and forgotten.”
“That’s why some of YouTube’s biggest names are going offline for a 24hr #RedOut – to raise awareness of the injustices that vulnerable young people face.
“If you believe young people deserve more, please help us raise the alarm by sharing this video.”
Below are some shocking facts:
-> The number of 18-24 year olds sleeping on London streets has doubled since 2009
-> In Africa there are 59 million children aged 5 to 14 who are forced to work
Red Nose Day is back on Friday 24th March 2017.
