Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2017 line up announced!

Radio 1 have released the Big Weekend Hull 2017 line up.

BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show host Nick Grimshaw this morning announced the line-up for BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend Hull 2017.

Nick revealed the artists confirmed this year’s artists include Rita Ora, The Chainsmokers, Lorde, Kasabian and Royal Blood.

The confirmed artists will join the line-up for the two-day event, which takes place at Burton Constable Hall on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 May.

Katy Perry was previously announced to headline the event alongside Little Mix, Kings Of Leon and Stormzy, in Hull for Radio 1’s annual flagship event.

Hosted by Radio 1 DJs, Radio 1’s Big Weekend is Europe’s largest free ticketed festival, and will be heading to Hull to coincide with the UK City of Culture celebrations for 2017.

Discussing her upcoming trip to Hull with Grimmy Katy told the Breakfast Show host that she’s looking forward to trying the area’s local delicacies, including chip spice, savoury patties and Yorkshire puddings.

The two have even planned a date to Hull’s Yorkshire pudding factory.

Katy Perry says: “Radio 1’s Big Weekend is always a blast and I’m so happy to be able to make it to Hull alongside the incredible line-up. Grimmy has told me all about Hull and we’ve already set up a date to the Yorkshire pudding factory!”
