A girl has been airlifted to Hospital after falling into water on ride at Drayton Manor this afternoon.
Drayton Manor earlier announced on social media: “Splash Canyon has been closed following an incident this afternoon. Emergency services & our fully trained park staff are assisting.”
It’s now being reported that a girl aged 11 has been airlifted to hospital after falling into the water on a ride at the theme park.
It’s believed that the girl has been taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
Officers said that the girls parents have been told and the incident has been passed on to the Health and Safety Executive.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of a patient in the water at Drayton Manor Park, Tamworth, at 2.18pm this afternoon.
“An ambulance, a senior paramedic officer, a paramedic area support officer, a rapid response paramedic, a community first responder and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Staffordshire were sent to the scene.
“The first resource was on scene within seven minutes.”
UPDATE: The 11 year old girl has been confirmed dead after the incident at Drayton Manor on Tuesday afternoon.
