Britain’s Got Talent star Jamie Lee Harrison was rejected on The X Factor.
Britain’s Got Talent sensation Jamie Lee Harrison was turned down on Simon Cowell’s other talent show ‘The X Factor’.
Jamie, 24, from Newcastle blew the Britain’s Got Talent judges away this year, after failing with his X Factor audition.
While Gary Barlow was left unimpressed by Jamie, Simon thought he was amazing.
Simon said after Jamie’s cover of REM’s ‘Everybody Hurts’ on BGT: “This is what I’ve been waiting for.
“I think we’ve just scratched the surface here, you have a great voice… I heard real soul. You’re exactly the kind of person I want to find when we make these shows.”
Jamie auditioned for The X Factor back in 2013, he told The Daily Star: “When I went on X Factor it was Gary Barlow. If Simon had been there I don’t know what would have happened. I guess it just wasn’t my time back then.”
Speaking about the reaction of his BGT audition, he said: “When I’m singing, I sometimes get a bit lost in the song and for just a few short seconds, I kind of forgot I was on Britain’s Got Talent.
“At the end of the song, I opened my eyes and realised what was going on and a wave of emotion came over me. It was a lot to take in. I was excited, nervous and happy. I don’t even know what my face was doing. I was just shocked by the reaction.”
