Lorde’s Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2017 live set axed after swearing on the main stage!

Lorde’s live Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2017 set was axed from radio and TV today after she swore on the main stage.

BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend is a huge music festival run by BBC Radio 1.

Big Weekend is held once a year, and in a different location within the United Kingdom each time.

Lorde was one of the artists that performed at the huge festival today.

Radio 1 were live streaming the festival on the radio and BBC iPlayer, but unfortunately Lorde swore during her set and it was axed.

According to Radio 1 artists aren’t allowed to swear during their sets as they have a lot of listeners, including children. If an artist swears during their set, the BBC axe it from the radio and video live stream. One strike and they’re out, and they are warned before they go on the stage.

Lorde dropped the F-word during a chat with the crowds about her hair and the wind.

BBC said they cannot risk it after an artist swears, so Lorde’s set will be played on iPlayer and radio later in the day, after it’s ‘cleaned up’ in the editing process.

Other artists that have performed on the main stage this afternoon are: Katy Perry (headliner), Biffy Clyro, Emeli Sandé, Galantis, Imagine Dragons, James Arthur, Kasabian
    and Zara Larsson.
