Ed Sheeran has quit Twitter due to online trolls!

Ed Sheeran has been forced to quit Twitter after being inundated with negative comments from online trolls.

Ed Sheeran has revealed that ever since his return to social media he has become the target of online trolls, being greeted by negative comments every time he logs on.

He told The Sun about his reasons for quitting: ‘I’ve actually come off Twitter completely. I can’t read it.

“I go on it and there’s nothing but people saying mean things. Twitter’s a platform for that. One comment ruins your day. But that’s why I’ve come off it.

“The head-f**k for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much,”

The basis of recent negative comments have been from Lady Gaga fans who have jumped on Ed regarding a recent interview about the singer. But Ed Sheeran states the comments are completely unjustified.

He has also faced grief about his recent headlining set at Glastonbury. As a one man show, he uses a loop pedal to provide the backing vocals to his track but many viewers confused this idea with miming.

He was forced to take to Twitter to explain himself: ‘Never thought I’d have to explain it, but everything I do in my live show is live, it’s a loop station, not a backing track. Please google x.’

Ed Sheeran also states that “people like my dad” bring him down to earth and ensure he is not getting too big for his boots so he does not need the comments from strangers.

He has now resulted to just posting links to his Instagram photos onto his Twitter account, which has 19.1 million followers.

Ed Sheeran has recently announced a 2018 stadium tour following his Glastonbury set.
