I’m A Celebrity 2017: Dec ‘won’t host the show without Ant’ by his side!

Dec has reportedly said he will not host I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! without Ant by his side.

A source has claimed Dec will not present this year’s I’m A Celeb if Ant can’t return to the show.

If Ant McPartlin continues with rehab and doesn’t recover before the reality show starts in November, Declan Donnelly will reportedly drop out.

Dec has told friends he “would never” host I’m A Celebrity without Ant by his side.

Ant is currently in rehab battling a prescription drug and booze addiction, and he may not be up to doing I’m A Celeb this November.

While Ant is recovering in rehab, ITV bosses are already looking ahead to find his best presenter replacement to stand in.

It was rumoured that Holly Willoughby could star alongside Dec on this year’s I’m A Celebrity – But that now doesn’t seem the case.

A source told the Mirror: “Dec wouldn’t work on screen without Ant on any major show and he has said the last thing he would do is go to Australia without him.

“To say he would consider working with Holly was ridiculous. He is a good friend of hers but he would not do that to Ant.”

The source added: “They’ve got months yet to sort things out and the hope is that Ant will bounce back with another hit series of I’m A Celebrity and they will move on from this chapter in their career.”

ITV have told Ant they will help him during his recovery, an insider told The Sun: “The feeling amongst senior executives is that Ant has been very brave to admit this. He’s got our total backing and he knows he can take as much time as he needs.

“If there’s anything we can do to support him in getting better then of course he only needs to ask – he’s a huge part of the ITV family and that isn’t going to change.”

I’m A Celebrity 2017 returns to ITV this November.
