Disney casts live-action Aladdin stars, Will Smith, Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott!

Disney have found their stars for the live-action remake of Aladdin.

Disney have announced the casting for Guy Ritchie’s live-action remake of Aladdin – It includes Will Smith as the Genie.

Will Smith, Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott were the three cast members announced at the D23 Expo on Saturday.

Walt Disney Studios production president Sean Bailey announced at D23 Expo: “Aladdin will be played by a young actor named Mena Massoud,”

“Jasmine will be played by Naomi Scott.”

Naomi Scott is set to play Princess Jasmine, while Will Smith will be taking on the Genie.

Newcomer Mena Massoud is taking the leading role as Aladdin.

Disney have yet to announce who’ll play Jafar.

The original Aladdin was released in 1992 and it told the story of a the young thief who is granted three wishes by a genie trapped in a lamp – although Jafar, who’s evil, wants to become powerful instead.
