Ashleigh says putting Pudsey down ‘was the hardest decision of my life’!

Ashleigh Butler has said putting her beloved pet Pudsey down was the hardest decision of her life.

Yesterday we announced that Pudsey, the dog, had died aged 11.

Ashleigh and Pudsey won Britain’s Got Talent in 2012, and performed on the Royal Variety Performance as well as winning £500,000 – They also met The Queen.

Ashleigh shared the sad news via Instagram, saying she was “heartbroken” to say goodbye to Pudsey.

Five years after the pair won Britain’s Got Talent, Ashleigh had to make a tough decision and put Pudsey down following a leukaemia diagnosis.

Ashleigh said: “I had to make the hardest decision of my life to let my beautiful boy go to sleep at the age of 11,

“From the minute he was born he brought nothing but joy to me, and as a winner of BGT millions of others who adored him too.

“No words can express just how much I will miss him.

“He changed my life and I have so many wonderful memories of our time together. He will always be in my heart.”

The Britain’s Got Talent judges have paid their tributes to Pudsey on Twitter:

The BGT official channel said: “We are saddened to hear that today we lost Pudsey, a most marvellous winner. Our thoughts are with Ashleigh.”

Amanda Holden said: “So sad to hear this gorgeous talented dog has gone to #doggyheaven”

David Walliams posted: “Farewell to a very special dog that the nation fell in love with. #Pudsey”.
