Larry Lamb reveals that a Gavin and Stacey film could happen!

Seven years since the last episode of Gavin and Stacey aired on television, Larry Lamb reveals that a Gavin and Stacey film is a “distinct possibility.”

For years, the British public have been desperate for a further dose of Gavin, Stacey, Nessa, Smithy, Brin, Mick, Pam, and Gwen and just when we were giving up, Larry Lamb has given us hope.

Speaking to the Press Association in London, Larry answered the question about the film: ‘I don’t think anybody that was in it would ever say no to it. I think it’s highly unlikely that they’ll ever make another television series of Gavin and Stacey. I think it’s a distinct possibility that one day, they might make a film, that’s it.’

‘That’s purely conjecture… It’s got a huge audience, so I’m sure that’s what they’ll do.’

Earlier this year, Rob Brydon, who played Uncle Bryn in the highly successful sitcom also spoke about the possibility of a reunion:

“In the past I wanted to leave it on a high but mellowing in my old age, [a special] would be lovely because everyone likes each other,” he said.

“If [show writers] James [Corden] and Ruth [Jones] want to do it then I think we’d all do it,” he added to The Sun.

The only problem which would present itself if the cast did agree to add another instalment of the franchise is that James Corden is currently very preoccupied in America presenting his very successful talk show The Late Late Show with James Cordon.

Corden previously spoke to the Daily Mail about writing another Gavin and Stacey special:

“I’d love to do another Gavin & Stacey special. It’s just finding the time. My favourite was the last Christmas special.”

“Writing that with Ruth for two weeks was just brilliant, so I’d love to do another one. Watch this space.”

In another interview, James told Capital Breakfast: Ruth and I, we talk about it, not in a way of “Oh shall we do it?”, we talk more about the characters and I wonder what they’re doing now.

‘I think if did, we’d try and do it secretly, without any sort of announcement, and just see if we can find a story, or if there’s even time. I mean, she’s so busy and obviously I live over there. So, who knows.’
