TV presenter, Jeremy Clarkson, has been rushed to hospital after falling ill during his family holiday to Spain.
Clarkson has recently finished filming for Grand Tour with Richard Hammond and James May and was set to celebrate with a family holiday to Majorca in Spain.
However, it appears that not a lot of celebrating will be done during his family holiday as he was rushed to hospital on Friday morning with a dangerous infection.
A spokeswoman for The Grand Tour told The Sunday Mirror: ‘Jeremy Clarkson was admitted to hospital on Friday morning during a family holiday in Spain, and is being treated for pneumonia.’
When contacted by the Sunday Mirror, the former Top Gear presenter said: “Put it this way. You won’t be hearing much from me for a few weeks.”
The ex-Top Gear host told friend Jemima Goldsmith that he was “in a wheelchair, connected up to tubes, in a hospital”.
Liking to keep his fans updated, the 57-year-old posted a picture on Instagram of his arm covered in hospital wristbands and drips, coupled with the caption: “Not the sort of bangles I usually choose on holiday.”
It is suggested that his family are urging him to take better care of himself and cut back on the fags and alcohol.
A source told The Sun: ‘Inevitably people close to him are saying it’s time to think about the way he looks after himself – cutting back on the booze and fags – but he’s never been one to take that sort of guidance on board.’
Get well soon Jezza!
