X Factor 2017: Grace Davies SECOND contestant to ‘break rule’ this weekend!

Grace Davies has become the second X Factor contestant to ‘break’ a huge rule during George Michael week.

The third weekend of X Factor live shows concluded this evening, with the remaining acts in the competition competing to impress the judges and audience and maintain their place in the show.

The theme of this weekend’s X Factor was George Michael – Every contestant must sing a song by George.

Except that wasn’t the case on Sunday’s show as Grace Davies sang Bonnie Raitt’s ‘I Can’t Make You Love Me’, it was a song covered by George, once.

Fans on social media slammed the contestant for not singing an original George Michael song, one wrote: “So Grace sings a song that’s not originally a George Michael song. He may have sang it but it wasn’t his song. So many to choose from and she picks this.”

Grace wasn’t the only contestant to ‘break’ the rules this weekend. The Cutkelvins also did.

Simon said on Saturday’s show: “Singing not one of George Michael’s songs but two of his greatest ever covers, The Cutkelvins.”

The group performed Seal’s Killer and The Temptations’ Papa Was A Rolling Stone – Although, again, social media was not happy.

One viewer wrote: “So let me gets this straight, the Calvert-Lewins or whatever they’re called are covering Seal & The Temptations…….on George Michael week”

Another said: “George Michael has so many incredible songs…so why didn’t the Cutkelvins sing one of them?!”

The X Factor continues next weekend.
