Former Scottish Labour Party leader Kezia Dugdale is to enter I’m A Celebrity 2017 as a late arrival.
Kezia Dugdale is reportedly set to fly out to Australia last-minute to join the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! lineup.
Kezia resigned as leader of Scottish Labour in August and is bound to sprinkle the celebrity camp with a tad of controversy.
In a report by The Sun, Kezia will leave her constituents without a representative while she takes part in the ITV reality show.
A source told the paper: “It’s hard to represent constituents when you’re on the other side of the world.
“This signing is bound to annoy a lot of taxpayers. Kezia is going to be unable to perform her day job and serve her constituents for several weeks while she’s in the show.
The insider added: “It might be good publicity for her, but there’s some who will think it’s not so good for the Labour party.”
Kezia will join the already confirmed ten celebrities heading into the Jungle for the new series, they are: Jennie McAlpine, Dennis Wise, Rebekah Vardy, Jack Maynard, Shappi Khorsandi, Amir Khan, Stanley Johnson, Vanessa White, Jamie Lomas and Georgia “Toff” Toffolo.
The last time a serving politician entered the jungle was in 2012, Tory MP Nadine Dorries was suspended by her party.
I’m A Celebrity returns this Sunday on ITV from 9pm.
