Jack Maynard had everyone talking during the launch of I’m A Celebrity 2017 on ITV Sunday evening.
Jack Maynard is officially this year’s most popular contestant with Google reporting the YouTuber was the most searched for out of this year’s lineup.
Ten celebrities headed into the Jungle on Sunday evening, they were: Jennie McAlpine, Dennis Wise, Rebekah Vardy, Jack Maynard, Shappi Khorsandi, Amir Khan, Stanley Johnson, Vanessa White, Jamie Lomas and Georgia “Toff” Toffolo.
At 9PM, I’m A Celebrity 2017 launched on ITV, Jack was the most searched for contestant on Google.
Following Jack the popularity almost drops by 50% as Jamie Vardy was the second most searched for contestant.
Dennis Wise came in third, Amir Khan followed a close fourth and Jamie Lomas was this year’s 5th most searched for at launch.
Dissecting Jack’s searches discovered that Wales came out on top with the most searches, followed by Northern Ireland then England.
Before heading into the Jungle, Jack said he was chuffed to bits to have been picked ahead of so many other rival vloggers to go in the famous ITV show, the 22-year-old Internet sensation says he hopes to do the social media world ‘proud’.
“We are the most famous people you’ve never heard of…” he says.
“One of the main reasons I am definitely doing it is to be the first YouTuber to go on a show that is so massive in this country. That is quite amazing. You can’t get anything more high profile than this and it’s going to lead to so many other great opportunities. I can’t wait to find out what!”
BAFTA award-winning hosts Ant and Dec returned to present I’m A Celebrity, and viewers loved their banter they brought after Ant’s tough summer.
