I’m A Celebrity 2017: Shappi Khorsandi is the first campmate to be given the boot!

Shappi Khorsandi is the first campmate to leave I’m A Celebrity 2017.

After ten days in the jungle, Ant and Dec announced that Shappi Khorsandi has been eliminated after receiving the fewest public votes.

Ant and Dec entered the camp live to announce the results of the first public vote of the series and to say goodbye to one of the I’m A Celebrity campmates.

Amir, Iain and Dennis were all immune from Friday’s vote off after a series of secret challenges this week.

“I get to see my babies!” said Shappi after the result was announced, “Don’t be sad, this is what I wanted!”

Shappi told Ant and Dec during her exit interview: “I’m so relieved.

“I missed my children like crazy…

“I think I got off lightly because I only got bitten by 100,000 ants and my last challenge wasn’t gory it was funny and silly.”

Before entering the jungle Shappi revealed watching her friend, Joel Dommett, who was runner-up in last year’s series, spurred her on to accept the challenge.

“I just felt that it was a good time for me to do something like this,” she says.

“It’s something a bit challenging and really out of my comfort zone. I didn’t talk to Joel about it beforehand as it’s been a big secret but I am feeling both excited and terrified about the prospect.”

I’m A Celebrity continues nightly on ITV.
