Celebrity Big Brother 2018: India Willoughby first to ‘sign up’ for new series!

Newsreader India Willoughby is the first celebrity to sign up for Celebrity Big Brother 2018, according to a report.

Channel 5 will make history with Celebrity Big brother 2018 – It has been confirmed that the new series will launch with an all-female cast of celebrity housemates in a salute to a centenary of women’s suffrage.

In January 2018, as the nation marks 100 years since women won the right to vote for the very first time, Channel 5 wanted a special twist for the new series of CBB.

The nation’s first trans newsreader India Willoughby, 51, is reportedly in talks with Big Brother producers for the new series.

“India is in talks to sign up for the show- they’d love to land her,” a source told The Sun.

“She’s outspoken would be amazing television.”

A Celebrity Big Brother spokesperson said: “We don’t comment on speculation.”

India worked in the North East as a news anchor for ITV Border before she quit after 10 years to undergo a full transition.

She has also been a panelist on Loose Women a number of times.

Over the course of the series, as the male counterparts enter the house, the housemates will take part in a series of entertaining tasks and hidden experiments which will test their – and our – assumptions, challenge gender stereotypes and reveal fascinating truths about what it is to be a woman – and man – in the 21st century.

Channel 5 teased: “See what happens when women hold the power, as Celebrity Big Brother January 2018 is set to be celebratory, surprising and insightful.”

Earlier this year, Emma Willis addressed reports of a women-only series, she told ITV’s Lorraine: “I’ve read these stories in the papers but I haven’t had a phone call to confirm anything.

“I think it would be an amazing thing to do though. It’s going to have been 100 years since women got the right to vote around that time and we now live in a world that is pro-feminism, finally! We deserve to be equal.

“Personally, I think it would be amazing to have all women in the house. We did it once before when Ziggy (Lichman) was the only man and it was all girls, but then the boys were slowly filtered in.”
