Phillip Schofield gave fans a behind-the-scenes look on This Morning and revealed a huge Dancing On Ice secret.
During a special segment on This Morning, Phillip Schofield was live from the Dancing On Ice studios as rehearsals are underway.
Phillip will be hosting the show with Holly Willoughby on Sunday.
While live on This Morning, Eamonn Holmes asked Phill: “Do you Phillip, from your presentational position, do you ever have to wear skates?”
Phillip then revealed a massive show secret by saying: “No, no. Okay, alright I’ll tell you, if Holly and I go out on the ice they put a white carpet out and we walk in our normal shoes.
Phill added: “If we have to go out without the white carpet there are special like snow gripper things they put on your shoes so you don’t fall over.”
Ruth Langsford laughed: “I’d like to see that, especially with Holly’s high heels.”
Not only did Phillip reveal how he walks on the ice during the show, he also gave viewers some facts.
The Dancing On Ice rink is said to be filled with 5,000 gallons of water and is actually 30ft deep.
For camera shots of the celebrities skating routines, there’s a camera on a special track that spins around and follows the celebs.
Six skating stars will take to our brand new rink for the very first time on Sunday night.
The other six will have to wait until the following week before they skate for the judges, however, they’ll still take to the ice in a special group number.
Once the judges scores have been combined with the viewer’s votes, this Sunday’s bottom couple will face the first skate off of the series, the following week. They’ll be against whichever couple finishes bottom in that show.
ITV have said that no one will leave in the first week.
The Dancing On Ice judging panel will choose who to save and who to send home. Each week Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean will alternate the role of Head Judge.
In the event of a tie, it’ll be down to them to decide leaves the competition.
The six celebrities performing this Sunday will be: Kem Cetinay, Stephanie Waring, Antony Cotton, Perri Shakes-Drayton, Jake Quickenden and Candice Brown.
Dancing On Ice returns at 6pm on Sunday on ITV.
