Shane Dawson has been forced to release a statement to deny accusations of pedophilia.
YouTuber Shane Dawson has released a statement to deny accusations of pedophilia.
A video has surfaced online that’s a montage of old audio clips from his “Shane And Friends” podcast – In the video you can hear Shane calling a six-year-old ‘sexy’ and admitting to ‘googling naked babies.’
Shane is quoted from the viral video saying: “Here’s my thing. People have foot fetishes, people have fetishes about… everything. Fine, everybody do your thing…
“So why is it when somebody looks at naked babies on Google and [masturbates] to it they can get arrested?” he asked.
“Here’s the worst part of it, I actually went to Google… I didn’t want to see child porn but I just thought okay let me pretend like I’m a paedophile for a second.
“So I typed in “naked baby”. First of all I don’t know why anybody would be turned on by that. But they were sexy… I’m kidding.”
You can listen to it below, start from 7 minutes 20 seconds.
The video that is circulating online, fans believe has been taken out of context from the original podcast – Shane has had to release a statement to clarify the situation.
In the statement released by Shane, he said: “I can’t believe this is happening.
“I am not a fu*king paedophile,”
“It’s disgusting that people are calling me a paedophile over a 6-year-old podcast. Let me start with ‘I’m Sorry’,”
“I loved the feeling of making somebody shocked and laugh because they couldn’t believe what was coming out of my mouth. I’m not proud of [it].”
“I’ve changed so much as a person, the stuff I was saying back in those times, I would not say now, never, I don’t think it’s funny.”
I grew up. I changed my content. I apologized countless times for my shitty offensive jokes. instead of dragging me down people should use me as an example of a creator who can CHANGE and better themselves and their content. i’m so proud of who i am today.
