Dancing On Ice commentator Matt Chapman has QUIT after one show!

Dancing On Ice’s commentator Matt Chapman has quit the show after one episode, ITV have confirmed.

Dancing On Ice commentator Matt Chapman has quit the show after one episode.

Dancing On Ice returned to ITV after a 4-year hiatus last Sunday, hosted by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

The sports commentator made his debut on Dancing On Ice last Sunday, but he wasn’t a huge hit with the viewers.

Viewers thought Matt’s ‘boisterous approach’ was too much for the skating show.

ITV have now confirmed that Matt has quit, despite reports of an axe by ITV bosses – The statement read: “We can confirm that Matt Chapman has left the show, and wish him all the very best and look forward to him reporting at ITV Racing at Warwick this weekend.”

The Sun has reported that Matt was forced to leave the show after he “he couldn’t make his diary work”.

Matt told the paper: “I’ve decided to hang up my skates, leave the rink and return to the turf. I wish the show the best of luck for the rest of the run.”

Dancing On Ice’s previous commentator was Tony Gubba who passed away in 2013 from ill-health.

Dancing On Ice continues this Sunday at 6pm.
