Stan Lee has reportedly been rushed to a hospital in California after falling ill at his home.

Stan Lee spent Wednesday night in Cedars-Sinai Hospital after suffering from ‘shortness of breath and an irregular heartbeat’

According to US site TMZ, ‘sources close to the comic book legend’ have said the Marvel comic book legend has been rushed to hospital but is in stable condition.

Last year, the 95-year-old cancelled two major conventions due to health concerns – But has never publicly revealed his current health status.

The former editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics attended the ‘Black Panther’ US premiere on Monday night in Hollywood.

Hours after the news broke, Stan Lee has confirmed he’s ‘feeling great’ following his hospital visit.

“All I really want to do is tell you that I’m feeling great,” Lee told ABC Los Angeles.

“I figured a little check up wouldn’t be bad for me. And in fact it turned out to be pretty good, it got me a lot of publicity. I’m feeling good now and I can’t wait to get in there and tangle with all the competition. It’s nice to know that somewhere in the world there are still people who care about what I say or do.”

He has surprisingly made a cameo in every single Marvel film to date.

Stan Lee’s wife, Joan, passed away in July at the age of 93 after suffering a stroke.
