Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway returns for a brand new series with impressive ratings

Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway returned to ITV last night for a brand new series with more than 7.5million people tuning in.

The new series of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway aired on ITV last night with an average audience of 7.6 million viewers, making it the most watched first show since the relaunch.

A peak of 8.6 million watched the launch of the new series.

It’s up 200,000 on the last two years and was the most watched launch since it restarted in 2013.

During the launch show, Ant and Dec revealed that Saturday Night Takeaway will visit Universal Orlando Resort for its biggest end of series finale to date.

The seventh and final show of the current 15th series will be broadcast live from the popular attraction featuring spectacular stunts, star guests and lots of surprises in store.

Announcing the news live on the show, Ant and Dec revealed: “This year the Saturday Night Takeaway series finale will be coming live from Universal Orlando Resort in Florida.

“It’s going to be incredible. We’re celebrating our series finale with a party you’ll never forget.

They added: “We’re taking over 200 of you to Florida and we’ll be giving away tickets all series long.”

Following second in the ratings battle on Saturday night was The Voice UK with an average of 5.5 million viewers.
