ITV bosses have decided that Ant McPartlin will feature in this weekend’s Saturday Night Takeaway in pre-recorded footage.
Following Ant McPartlin’s drink drive fiasco, ITV bosses have decided to air pre-recorded footage of presenter in this weekend’s live show of Saturday Night Takeaway.
Ant will not personally appear on the show this weekend as he’s pulled out of TV commitments indefinitely to head back to rehab but ITV bosses have agreed to air the remaining episodes of comedy sketch ‘Saturday Knight Takeaway’.
‘Saturday Knight Takeaway’ sketch shows Ant and Dec as secret agents tasked with solving mysteries.
As the comedy sketch cost ITV a staggering amount of money to produce, TV bosses have agreed to air the pre-recorded episodes.
A source explained to The Sun: “There’s been some discussion about whether the whole of the series should be ditched because Ant features heavily.
“But after a lot of soul searching it was decided that the final two episodes should run because viewers have loved the series and want to find out the conclusion in the final two episodes.”
The insider added: “Obviously it means Ant will still be on the show in some form.”
ITV have also been in talks regarding Ant and Dec’s future on reality show I’m A Celebrity.
Following rumours that the Geordie duo could be axed from the show, ITV revealed they will never replace Ant and Dec on I’m A Celebrity, claiming the rumours as ‘utter nonsense’.
Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have fronted ITV’s hit reality show I’m A Celebrity since 2002.
On a lighter much happier note, Dec has confirmed that his wife Ali Astall is pregnant with their first child.
