ITV decide to air Britain’s Got Talent footage of Ant McPartlin – He will not be ‘edited out’

Ant McPartlin will feature on Britain’s Got Talent as the show returns to ITV next weekend.

ITV have decided to keep all the Britain’s Got Talent audition footage starring Ant McPartlin and will air it instead of ‘editing him out’.

Ant McPartlin was due to appear in court today to be charged with drink driving but instead his hearing has been postponed for two weeks to allow him to complete the ‘intensive’ phase of his rehab course.

Going against recent reports, ITV have reportedly decided to air audition scenes featuring Ant McPartlin as the show returns next weekend.

Instead of editing Ant out of all the pre-recorded BGT footage, ITV bosses have decided to air scenes with the troubled presenter in – Although Ant will not feature in the live shows.

Dec is reportedly set to host the Britain’s Got Talent live shows on his own.

An insider told The Sun: “After last weekend the feeling is very much that Dec should take on BGT alone too – he did a brilliant job.

“The bosses at ITV loved him and want him back on screens as soon as possible, and Simon Cowell totally agrees that he’s the best man for the job rather than bringing in a new face.”

ITV has said to have told Ant to take all the time he needs, a source told the paper: “He won’t be pushed into returning too soon.

“Many people feel that he may have been a bit quick to come back after his problems last year. This time everyone is determined that he takes all the time he needs to deal with things properly.”

Britain’s Got Talent returns on April 14 on ITV.
