Demi Lovato has checked straight into rehab since being discharged from hospital, according to a report.
US pop singer Demi Lovato broke her silence this weekend with her first statement after she was taken to hospital two weeks ago for a suspected drug overdose.
According to sources, the 25-year-old singer has been discharged from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA and now checked into one of America’s leading facilities for addiction, TMZ reports.
On Saturday Demi thanked her family, fans and hospital staff in a statement on Instagram, she mentioned she now needs “time to heal and focus on my sobriety”.
Demi said: “I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction,
“What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time.
“It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet.
“I want to thank God for keeping me alive and well. To my fans, I am forever grateful for all of your love and support through this past week and beyond.”
“I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and the road to recovery.
“The love you have all shown me will never be forgotten and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out the other side.
Demi added: “I will keep fighting.”
