Fusion 2018 returns to Liverpool this weekend with Shawn Mendes and David Guetta headlining

Fusion 2018 is returning to Liverpool with Shawn Mendes and David Guetta headlining for one poptastic weekend.

Fusion 2018 is a UK pop music festival in Liverpool, laying on a lineup of some of the genre’s biggest artists every year.

Now in its 6th year, Fusion is again teaming up with Capital, Liverpool’s no.1 hit music station, to bring music fans the biggest hits and an unmissable lineup of artists on the banks of the River Mersey.

Fusion has announced a second wave of incredible acts for its 2018 lineup including special guests The Vamps, Raye, Ally Brooke, Becky Hill, Yungen and Grace Carter taking to the stage this September 1st and 2nd at Otterspool Promenade.

British band The Vamps will be returning to Fusion, previously known as Fusion Festival, fresh from their latest album ‘Night & Day’ becoming the band’s first UK Number One. Now with three albums, two BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards and numerous world tours under their belts, they are currently on their ‘Night & Day’ tour.

Dance-pop and BRIT School Alumni Rachel Keen aka Raye known for the massive dance-pop hits ‘You Don’t Know Me’, ‘Cigarette’ and Jax Jones’ ‘By Your Side’ will also join this year’s lineup.

The acts join Shawn Mendes, David Guetta, Years & Years, Zara Larsson, Clean Bandit, Jess Glynne, Disciples, Jax Jones, MNEK and many more.

David Guetta said: “I can’t wait to perform at Fusion for the first time. The line up is awesome and I’m honoured to be a part of it. I look forward to seeing all my UK fans there!’

Sunday’s headliner, Shawn Mendes, has brought us mega-hits ‘Mercy’, ‘Treat You better’, ‘There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back’ and the mighty Number One single ‘Stitches’. Since opening for Taylor Swift’s ‘The 1989 World Tour’ in 2015, the Canadian singer has bagged multiple awards and last year sold out his first world tour in minutes at the age of 18. He is now gracing Fusion with his numerous hits, headlining the last night of what will be the greatest pop event this summer.

Damien Sanders, Event Director of Fusion Festival said: “Every year Fusion grows and the line up is filled with more superstars.

“From Ed Sheeran to Little Mix and Take That to Ne-Yo, we never disappoint, and Fusion 2018 will once again impress the crowds with the biggest acts of the year playing including David Guetta and Shawn Mendes,”

Damien added: “We are delighted to be partnering with Capital Liverpool once more and can’t wait to round off the summer with the biggest pop music event of the year!”
